SMART BOARD

A SMART Board interactive whiteboard combines the simplicity (and cleanliness) of a whiteboard with the power and versatility of a computer.  SMART Boards use touch-sensitive displays that connect to a computer (usually an instructor station).  Applications can be controlled directly from the display.  Instructors can create annotations to their software applications or other notes, which can be captured and stored for later retrieval by the instructor or the students (if the notes are uploaded to a student-accessible location such as Blackboard).

SMART Boards are especially handy when used in conjunction with PowerPoint presentations, PDF documents, and web sites.

SMART Board Support:

SMART Board Basics -- New to SMART technology?  This short guide should help you get started!

How to Orient the SMART Board -- SMART Boards require calibration in order to function properly.  An uncalibrated SMART Board may result in you clicking a button you don't intent to click or cause difficulty when trying to scroll down a web page.

Setting Pen Options for the SMART Board -- SMART Boards support a wide variety of pen colors and styles.

SMART Board Software -- Using SMART Notebook to get the most out of the whiteboard capabilities of the SMART Board.
